Finding the Right Gazebo Cover

It is summer again, and this past winter really took its toll on our outdoor furniture.  We have a rather large yard, we use it for entertaining quite a bit.  We have a really nice wooden gazebo off to one side of the yard that is our shaded sitting area, and a metal frame canopy over the hot tub. The canopy was ruined.  After 3 days of shopping for a gazebo canopy cover I found myself more confused as to what I wanted.

The first thing you want to consider is just what type of replacement gazebo cover you need.  I am seriously considering getting one with all screen on the sides to put over the hot tub.  The top would be canvas and then mesh screen sides.  It would serve to keep the sun from beating down and the bugs from getting to us while we were relaxing.  It could also have a privacy curtain that could be tied back or left down if we didn’t want the neighbors peeking over the fence at us.  I definitely want canvas gazebo covers, not plastic ones.

I have also been thinking about getting a gazebo cover for the wooden gazebo.  It is getting fairly old and showing a lot of wear and tear.  There were some great outdoor gazebo covers that could be kept on most of the time, and then easily taken off for times we want to entertain.  Of course the cover could stay on too; they look nice, some were on the formal side, and would help with bugs and the wind.

That was something that really amazed me, the vast amount of gazebo replacement covers available.  I thought it would be best to get the gazebo cover before picking out any new furniture cushions.  I figured it would be easier to math them that way.  I was really wrong! You can get them in almost any color, and you can even get patterns on them. I still think it best to get the gazebo covers first, but only because it will be the centerpiece.  It won’t be hard to match or co-ordinate the rest of the back yard to them at all.

If your family is anything like my family, you spend a lot of time in your back yard.  Some type of gazebo is almost a necessity to have a constant shaded area.  Over time you will need to get a replacement gazebo cover.  It really isn’t a big deal if you know what it is you have in mind.  It can change the whole out atmosphere of your yard, taking it from drab to fabulous.  It is much easier and just as much fun to redo your outdoor furniture as it is to get a new living room set, and much cheaper.  Maybe this will be your first canopy and you have years before worrying about a new cover.  While shopping, take a look at what is out there when you do need a replacement, you will find endless decorating ideas all revolving around replacement gazebo covers, I know

If you are reading this article then you probably already know what an arbor is, but I bet there are some out there who do not know what an arbor is. When I worked in the construction business the first time I saw the drawings for the arbor I said “what the heck is an that” and I knew I wasn’t the only one who did not know.
